Coordinating and refereeing

Prepare, assign, run and close a live match with TournamentAssistant, scores, replays and bracket results.

Before player check-in

The head coordinator verifies the match exists in the correct bracket with the correct number/type, scheduled time, map pool, teams in intentional side order, available replay counts, flow and staff assignments. The selected BeatKhana match must correspond to the TA room/session you will operate.

The coordinator owns progression and communication. The referee owns competitive observation and incident decisions. If the overlay grants Coordinator possesses referee permissions, those jobs are combined for that output; record who carries the responsibility.

Live procedure

  1. Select the tournament, overlay and match in the coordinator surface.
  2. Confirm TA connection and resolve each participant by platform ID.
  3. Check team/side order, pool and flow with both teams.
  4. Mark the match in progress and record actual start time.
  5. Advance pick/ban actions only after receiving a valid player/team decision.
  6. Confirm the chosen map and active players before starting gameplay.
  7. Monitor live TA scores and referee signals. A live score is not yet a persisted final result.
  8. For a replay call, verify the rule permits it, decrement the correct team's remaining replays and preserve the reason/evidence outside the numeric counter.
  9. Submit or correct accepted map scores only with the required overlay/tournament authority.
  10. Update points, declare the winner, set actual end/status and attach a VOD when available.

Bracket propagation

When Auto-propagate declared winners and losers is enabled, a declared winner/loser can populate connected destination matches. Verify Winner advances to and Loser advances to before declaring. Propagation cannot repair a wrongly connected bracket. After saving, inspect both downstream matches.

Recovery and overrides

If TA disconnects, pause competitive progression, keep players informed, and avoid inventing live data. Reconnect and reconcile the selected match/map and accepted score state. If a result is manually corrected, document who approved it, why, the old value and the new value. Removing a team from a match erases its points, replay calls and match-specific data.
