Communities, calendar and events

Community spaces, invitations, announcements, public schedules and platform notifications.

Communities

Authenticated users can create or join community spaces according to permission, review invitations, browse a community page and—when authorized—edit community settings. Communities can publish announcements with stable detail routes. Community membership is separate from tournament staff roles and tournament Discord membership checks.

Use a clear name/identity, assign the minimum managers, keep invitations intentional and treat announcements as public communications. Removing a user's community role must not be assumed to remove their tournament or global permissions.

Calendar

The calendar aggregates bounded date-range data so viewers can discover tournaments and relevant events. Organisers own the accuracy of their published dates. Use absolute timestamps and explicit timezones; avoid encoding schedule meaning only in a title.

Platform events and notifications

BeatKhana has a site event-notification system displayed on the homepage and an events page. Global notification-management permissions control create/update/removal. Notifications are platform communications, not match-control messages; overlay stream notifications are a separate live capability.

Tournament events

Tournament timeline events are configured inside the tournament and appear in its public context. Calendar, platform notification and tournament timeline may describe the same milestone, but they remain separate records. Update each intended audience when a schedule changes.
